Rimmel 60 seconds Nail Polish: Short but nonetheless Enticing Advert

The following advertisement from Rimmel cosmetics  introduces the company’s new product, the Rimmel - 60 seconds Nail Polish, to the cosmetics market. The following advertisement begins with the close-up shot of a model’s hand holding the Rimmel - 60 seconds Nail Polish and pressing the lift’s ground floor button. From the first glance of the model it could be seen that she is not wearing any nail polish. The first frame of the advertisement also includes the product’s name. The next few frames of the Rimmel London advertisement show that the model is applying the Rimmel - 60 seconds Nail Polish on her nails. The few frames of the advertisement show the application of the nail polish in all the model’s fingers. The model applies violet colour nail polish on her nails. The following frame of the advertisement shows that the model has finished applying the nail polish and is closing the lid of the product. The camera zooms to her dress which also of violet colour.

The model in the next frame can be seen swiping through her skirt and is ready to get out of the lift. For the last time she sees the nail polish she has applied on her nails and finds that the nail polish has totally dried up by the time she reached her floor. The model walks out of the lift. The final frame of the advertisement shows the product again with the visuals that symbolise the flag of United Kingdom. The best thing about the advertisement for this Rimmel London make-up product is that the model’s face wasn’t shown. All the time the camera was focused on the model’s hands and nails and the middle portion of her body. The amalgamation of the nail polish’s colour and the model’s dress is in proper contrast.
