Davidoff Cool Water: Portrayed as Classy Perfume to be Reckoned with
Davidoff is a brand to reckoned with in the category of perfume. Some of the most expensive and luxurious perfumes belong to their house. Their advertisement for Davidoff Cool water for Men is classy enough to lure the potential customers along with appeasing to the already long list of loyal fans.
The advertisement starts from the scene of a harbour in extremely hot and sticky atmosphere. The people in the advertisement can be seen sweating profusely when their model comes up, walking confidently. The male model is of course non-other than Lost actor Josh Holloway. His confident and casual attitude makes the female model turn to look back at him.
The male model goes up to the creek, removes his shirt and jumps into the water. His confident dive into the water and the way he reenergises himself after a dip in the pool is the central idea of this 30 seconds long ad.
The ad makers seem to suggest that the refreshing feeling experienced by the model after diving into the water is akin to what one would experience after spraying on their perfume, the Davidoff Cool Water eau de toilette . The advertisement does employ some conventional roles where the profusely sweating female is shown to be turned on by the man who uses this perfume and is risky enough to jump into creek water in order to relieve himself of soaring heat.
The perfume bottle appears at the end of the ad with a slogan “The power of cool”. The advertisers are trying to say that their perfume is powerful enough to make any woman get attracted to a male who uses it.
