Nintendo DSi - Rhythm Paradise Advert uses Superstar Beyonce to market the Game
The Nintendo DSi – Rhythm Paradise a groundbreaking gaming device propels the mini game to an entirely new level and absolutely smashes any pre-concieved notions about this genre. Tap, flick or slide the stylus and keep in rhythm with the enticing background music. It features a host of ‘rhythm’ games that mesmerise you as you try to follow the beat of the jiving monkeys, karate chopping men and the burping Easter Island statutes! The DSi advertisement have begun rolling out as it gets set to be launched in other countries.
Hugely successful singer of international acclaim Beyonce Knowles was roped in for the 30 second ad. The ad begins with a shot of Beyonce sitting on a couch playing with the device. It goes on to show few of the games it features while showing her tapping or flicking her stylus to keep in tune with the game. There are multiple shots that show her tapping her foot or moving her body obviously in rhythm with the Rhythm Heaven DS (Rhythm Paradise) game. While some scenes feature her completely enamoured by the game laughing and smiling. The background music used in the ad is probably what already features on the device. Though the ad gets the point across, it falls flat on its face considering the revolutionary device it seeks to market. The creative team behind the ad has no theme and the concept of the ad…well absolutely fails in all spheres. What has to be understood is that even when you have a great device and a superbly successful personality as your marketing agent you still need some concept. Obviously the team behind the ad doesn’t feel the ‘rhythm’ and there is scope for tremendous improvement.
