Olay is the manufacturer of cosmetics products including face care and body care. Their products are quite popular among the women and can be trusted to deliver what they promise to offer. And the idea behind this particular advert is to highlight the market segment is wants to target and the effects this product will have on the ladies.

The video actually shows woman living through a beautiful autumn day and enjoying every bit of it. She is standing on a hill and is looking into the sun. Now she is sitting in a restaurant and again looking up. She is carrying an umbrella and looking into the sky. And all this while she’s happy and singing, “You are my sunshine.” A very beautiful representation, I must say.

Then she is shown looking at herself in the mirror while applying Olay’s lotion. Actually it’s the next frame that shows it to be the Olay Complete Everyday Sunshine facial cream. And that’s the secret of her happiness and singing. Then a very neatly done computer simulation shows her skin tone changing into sun-kissed tan in just seven days. Finally the lady is shown leaning against the bike and is as happy as ever.

Good thing is the advert uses data to backup its claims. The advert shows that the product contains SPF 15 and the results are obtained without any streaks. And their claim is backed by 96% of the 95 women they surveyed. I appreciate that in addition to just the percentage they have shown the number of women included as well.

On a whole, Olay have got a good job done through this advert and can expect to generate quite an interest in their body lotion.
